Remember how everything looks different from time to time? Wouldn’t you agree that wrinkles come with age along with all the other things in life? But what if they show up a little (maybe a lot!) earlier than expected? well, in that case, that is perfectly okay to do something about it! Pancha Mahabhutas are here to help us with the fight against the elderly skin!

Water:

It is no secret that water is the wonder-elixir of our bodies: we need it to stay hydrated (and, hence, young), and this, in turn, keeps our skin looking plump. Drink a lot of water daily (eight glasses per day is the average), but also get your water fixed in the form of water-rich fruits, such as juicy watermelon and bananas. And if you do happen to sweat, let it seep in; do not rub it off with a gummy cloth. For the same reasons, avoid crazy-hot showers. Lukewarm water is kinder to your skin.

Earth:

And of course, mommy and baby, don’t forget to care for Mother Earth, too! Eat real, wholefoods meals with a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as sunflower seeds and almonds that are full of vitamins and fiber. The glowing skin can be taken care of with face masks made out of natural ingredients such as milk cream mixed with turmeric for a tangy mix that looks and smells great, or avocado paste with olive oil for an indulgent relaxation session straight at home.

Space:

Bit of fresh air you need? Take a breather and get out to the nearest park, or to the beach or riverside. It’d be great for you; nobody likes a stressed-out human. And you might also want to meditate if you feel so inclined; for optimum effect, find a quiet spot, breathe deeply, and let the happy rays do their job.

Air:

Ease yourself my dear, make yourself comfortable. Have you considered that you don’t smell so good? And your breath — six feet away, pls. Breathe, in and out, in and out. No, no, not like that. Try some Kapalabhati. Namaste. and seriously, that smoking habit? It’s time to quit. Thank the skin.

Fire:

Keep your belly fire burning! Keep everything glowing nicely: taking an hour or two off from eating will keep the digestion strong. During the summer, right at sunrise or sunset, or both, take some rays for your D. Use sunscreen, of course!

Above all, get that ass moving: assume the lion poses daily, or just smile broadly.

In other words, treat your skin every day and let the blooming begin! We celebrate aging when the fading of the doubt inspires the splendor of the soul.
